ACI also provides a number of features that make it easy to back up and restore the ACI configuration. In this article, we will discuss the backup and restore process for Cisco ACI.

The Cisco ACI backup and restore process is initiated from the APIC GUI. To start the process, login to the APIC and navigate to the Fabric tab. From the Fabric tab, select the Backup & Restore option.

The Backup & Restore page will list the available options for backing up the ACI configuration. There are two backup options available:

  1. System backup – this will backup the entire ACI configuration, including the APIC database.

  2. Configuration backup – this will backup the ACI configuration, excluding the APIC database.

Select the desired backup option and click the Backup button. A backup file will be created and downloaded to your local system.

To restore the ACI configuration, select the Restore option from the Backup & Restore page. Browse to the location of the backup file and click the Restore button.

The Cisco ACI backup and restore process is simple and easy to use. This process can be used to migrate the ACI configuration to a new APIC or to restore the ACI configuration in the event of a failure.
