aci lacp timers cisco

Short overview about Aci Lacp Timers and what's good to know about.

Cisco offers two types of Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) timers: short and long. Short timers are the default timers. If you want to change the default timers, you must change both the short and long timers to the same value.

The short timer controls how often LACP packets are sent. The default value is 1 second.

The long timer controls how long LACP waits before it decides that a link is down. The default value is 3 seconds.

You can use the lacp timer command to change the LACP timers.

To change the short timer to 2 seconds and the long timer to 4 seconds, use the following command:

lacp timer short 2 long 4

You can also use the lacp timer command to change only the short timer or only the long timer.

If you want to change only the short timer to 2 seconds, use the following command:

lacp timer short 2

If you want to change only the long timer to 4 seconds, use the following command:

lacp timer long 4
