Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) is a layer 2 protocol used to bundle multiple physical links into a single logical link. LACP is used to automatically bundle multiple physical links together to form a logical link that provides increased bandwidth and redundancy. Cisco ACI supports LACP in active/passive and active/active mode.

In active/passive mode, only one LAG member is active at a time and the other members are in standby mode. In the event of a link failure, the standby members take over and traffic is rerouted. Active/active mode uses all LAG members simultaneously and traffic is evenly distributed across all links.

To configure LACP in Cisco ACI, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Fabric > Links page.
  2. Select the LAG you want to configure from the list.
  3. Click the Edit button.
  4. Select the LACP Mode from the drop-down list.
  5. Click the Save button.

That’s all there is to it! LACP is a great way to increase bandwidth and redundancy in your Cisco ACI environment.
