Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) is a feature of the Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) that allows new appliances to be automatically provisioned and configured without user intervention. When a new appliance is connected to the network, it will request an IP address from a DHCP server and then contact the ZTP server. The ZTP server will then send a configuration file to the appliance that will provision it with the appropriate settings.
ZTP is a very simple process that can be completed in just a few minutes. First, a new appliance is connected to the network and is assigned an IP address. Next, the appliance contacts the ZTP server and requests a configuration file. The ZTP server then sends the configuration file to the appliance. Finally, the appliance is configured with the appropriate settings and is ready for use.
The Cisco ACI is a very popular choice for enterprise networks because of its many features, including Zero Touch Provisioning. ZTP is a key feature of the ACI that allows new devices to be deployed without any manual configuration. This can be a huge time saver in large deployments where there are many devices to be configured.
If you are planning on deploying a new Cisco ACI network, be sure to take advantage of the Zero Touch Provisioning feature to save yourself time and effort.
