In the past, if you wanted to use Cisco ACI with Amazon Web Services (AWS), you had to use a separate appliance. But now, you can use the Cisco ACI Virtual Edge for AWS. This means that you can use the same ACI policies and tools that you use for your on-premises data center with your AWS environment.
The Cisco ACI Virtual Edge for AWS is available in two different sizes:
Small (t2.medium): 4 vCPUs, 8 GB RAM, and 2 10-Gbps NICs
Large (m4.xlarge): 8 vCPUs, 16 GB RAM, and 4 10-Gbps NICs
You can deploy the Cisco ACI Virtual Edge for AWS in a matter of minutes. And, you can use it with any Cisco ACI-supported device, including the Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches.
The Cisco ACI Virtual Edge for AWS is a great way to extend your Cisco ACI policy and tools to your AWS environment. It’s simple to deploy and use, and it provides the same features and functionality as the physical Cisco ACI appliance.
